In the Original Series episode "The Conscience of the King," Timaset is forced to buy a derelict starship from a crew who have been stranded in space for centuries. Though he doesn't need this ship, he views it as a step up from his ancient freighter, and spends a lot of money on upgrades. He soon regrets this choice after the ship malfunctions and heads to a distant star. The crew has no way of returning home and Timaset is forced to sell the ship at a loss after realizing that he'll never see his old shipmates again.
